Flooring & Flooring Installation

hardwood-tile-flooringHardwood Floor - Hardwood floors can increase the value of your home and will last a lifetime.  Solid wood flooring can be installed in any room except a full bath or room below grade like a basement.  The advantage to choosing an engineered wood product is that they are more stable and will resist changes in humidity.  This makes them a great option for any room.

Laminate Floor- Laminate flooring is a nice option for a fraction of the cost of solid wood.  Look for a seal from the National Laminate Flooring Association (NALFA) to ensure quality.  Unlike wood flooring, laminate can not be refinished.  Installing laminate flooring in an area susceptible to moisture is not recommended.  However, choosing a product with glue in between the planks will make the floor more water resistant.

Bamboo Flooring is a popular choice for flooring among the environmentally friendly.  It is a highly renewable resource reaching full strength potential in 5 to 7 years when it  is ready to be harvested.  However, it may not be your best option. More Information

Tile Floor - Tile flooring is enormously popular.  Floor tiles are sought after because of their beauty, durability, easy maintenance, and value.  Porcelain tiles generally have a rating from the Porcelain Enamel Institute (PEI) of 5, making them the most durable tiles on the market.  Porcelain tiles usually have a much lower water absorption rate than ceramic tiles, which makes them more frost resistant, although not frost proof. Glazed porcelain tiles are much harder and are more resistant to wear and damage than ceramic tiles, making them suitable for any residential and light commercial application. Natural Stone Tiles are also available.  Because these stones were formed by nature, no two will ever look exactly the same. There are many subtle and significant differences between the types of stones available, from appearance to water absorption to durability.  The natural stones most commonly used in tiles are slate, marble, limestone, travertine and granite.

DeltaStone - DeltaStone is a natural stone product ideal for high traffic areas.  Durability, stain resistance and easy maintenance make DeltaStone an option for basements, mudrooms, bathrooms, garages and vacation homes. More Information
